Ckd

May Max is 17 plus and is a diabetic, which is pretty much under control. He was diagnosed with stage 3 ckd. Are there any supplements drops that will help slow this down? It s a struggle trying to find food he likes. I am also giving him fluids, which he likes and Pro Plan FortiFlora Synbiotic Action, that he really liked, which didn't last that long. I m throwing a lot of food away cause he won't eat it. He does like N&D Digestion, that I soak in water, but I not too keen on kibbles.

Any suggestions, would be appreciated.

Hi Maria!

What food is he eating now? The carbs and the phosphorus will be important.

Do you have any recent bloodwork to share? Maybe you already have one for the diabetes, but there is a sheet that displays it nicely, linked here. Would be interesting to see how the markers (BUN, creatinine, SDMA, USG, etc.) are trending.

Eating and drinking, managing BP/proteinuria/phosphorus, and treating symptoms are kind of the cornerstones. As far as supplements, there is a lot of talk about Porus One. It targets toxins and they pass them in the stool instead of going through the kidneys. I haven't tried it yet personally though. Sounds like you're doing a good job managing his FD and well on your way with the CKD.

Here are Max s blood work.
